Whether it's food or money, Idaho Foodbank local Branch Manger Chuck Whitman said any little bit will help. At this point, food donations, especially shelf stable canned good items are a high priority for the food bank, which supplies enough food for 34-partner agencies.
"People are thinking, they're realizing that a lot of families are struggling," said Whitman. "I would encourage people...just because Thanksgiving is tomorrow, the day after and next week keep giving because we really need a lot of canned goods."
Just 500 turkeys were distributed to the foodbank's partner "feeding sites," this Thanksgiving, which is 75% less than the 2,000 turkey's dispersed last year.
