Inland Northwest Blood Center face critical blood shortage

Right now there’s a critical blood shortage in our community, and the supply for blood is extremely low. Local donations are down 40-percent during the summer months. One pint of blood can save up to three lives.

INBC Coordinator Tesia Hummer talks about the need we face here in our community.

“Right now the Inland Northwest Blood Center and the country is seeing a critical blood shortage,” said Hummer. “INBC is the only blood provider to the entire Inland Northwest that includes the LC Valley, so if you are healthy come donate. Please come in because it's the donors that come in here that save lives.”

The community blood drive is all this week at the Inland Northwest Blood Center. The hours to donate are 7:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. on Friday and tomorrow (Tuesday) and Thursday from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

At the end of the month KLEW will have the INBC mobile unit right here in our parking lot for our Third Annual KLEW Blood Drive. It’s Friday July 28th from 3:45 to 7:00p.m. To register, go online at and use sponsor code KLEW TV.
