Joe Hall Ford & Rosauers team up for Summer Cereal Drive

LEWISTON, ID - Three-thousand children in Latah and Nez Perce Counties suffer from food insecurity.

And during summertime the problem only intensifies. That's why the Idaho Food Bank and Joe Hall Ford are teaming up to end childhood hunger.

A food drive is being held at Rosauers in an effort to collect boxes of cereal. Idaho Food Bank Branch Manager Cari Miller said the inexpensive item is easy for children to prepare themselves.

"They're not getting their breakfast and lunch at school during the summer and it's just an easy thing for kids to eat," said Miller. "It's nutritious and it's easy to access through the resources in the community."

"It's a great community, it's where we live and work and it's something we can do, it isn't really hard," said Joe Hall Ford Owner, Joe Hall. "You know it's just being here and asking people to help and calling on a few of our friends."

Volunteers will be at the store until 7:00 p.m. tonight (Thursday) collecting food. If you can't make it, bins will stay up through Friday.
