Whitman County Judge David Frazier sentenced Bilderback to the maximum 68 months in prison for controlled substance homicide, a class B felony, plus an additional 90 days for a misdemeanor count of improper disposal of human remains. Judge Frazier said that he went with the maximum felony sentence because the crime involved a juvenile, and because Bilderback previously served 20 years in prison for a first degree murder.
"Do I think that whatever time I give you will protect society from Bobby Bilderback? Yes I do," said Whitman County Judge David Frazier. "That's my most important concern here."
Whitman County Prosecutor Denis Tracy said Bilderback provided a fatal dose of methamphetamine to Stapert in March, and then put his body in a safe and buried it in Spokane County. Bilderback will have to pay more than $2,000 in fines. But, he will get credit for the time he already served in Whitman County Jail.
