Those are just a couple options the Lewiston Parks and Rec Department are considering for 310-acres of land in the Orchards.
A sewer line will be put in on land owned by LCSC, the City of Lewiston and the Lewiston School District. This step is just one of many needed in order to one day promote outdoor activities within the city.
"As we develop our parks and potential facilities up there, then we have the sewer system installed," said Lewiston Parks & Rec. Director Tim Barker. "So then we can build restroom facilities both outdoor and in depending on what development we have."
For fiscal year 2015, Barker said he hopes to develop a softball complex that could serve as a multi-use facility. Some other possibilities for the space include an outdoor movie theatre, swimming pool and a BMX course.
