Lewiston Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Asotin County Family Aquatic Center for this unique Cardboard Boat Regatta competition. Parks and Rec Director Tim Barker said the annual event is a great way to get the creative juices flowing.
"It has to be built out of cardboard, you can use duck tape and you can also use paint," said Barker. "So what happens is you use the duck tape to seal the edges and then obviously painting over it provides that water sealant on the outside of it."
There is a Best in Show contest, an obstacle course race, and a last man standing contest. The Boat Regatta will be held at the Orchards Pool on the 29th, however the last day to sign-up is this Friday at the Parks and Rec Office in Lewiston.
