LC Valley post offices experience normal business on tax day

LEWISTON, ID - The deadline for filing tax returns is finally here.

While many would expect lines out the door of the post office, it was just another regular day for USPS workers. The usual lunch rush came through the doors Monday afternoon at both the Clarkston and Lewiston offices but Postmaster Rick Glessner said there wasn't the usual April 15th mad rush like they've seen in the past.

"The last few years we haven't been staying open late mainly because they're either mailing them earlier then they have been previously or they're filing them online," said Glessner.

Both the Clarkston office and the Lewiston offices are not extending their hours Monday. Clarkston closed at 5 o'clock and Lewiston closed at 5:15. Monday is the last day to file your taxes but you can file for an extension, however the deadline for filing that is Monday as well.
