Lewiston graduate awarded the Bob McKenzie Memorial Scholarship

A Lewiston High School graduate made history today, as she accepted a prestigious award at the Nez Perce County Courthouse.

Thursday, Emma Schneider was awarded the Bob McKenzie Idaho Association of Counties Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarships were created 14 years ago through the combined efforts of Idaho’s counties, and are given out to the children or grandchildren of county employees.

Emma is the first and only recipient from Nez Perce County in those 14 years.

"I just think it's really cool and I'm super excited to be going to college, especially here in the valley,” said Schneider. “I'll be going to LCSC and I'm going to major in English and minor in history and I'm going into secondary education."

Emma plans on becoming a high school English or history teacher.

Congratulations Emma on this incredible accomplishment.
