LHS gives back and fulfills wish list of needy families

LEWISTON, ID - Students will warm the hearts of several families throughout the L.C. Valley this holiday season.

Tuesday afternoon students from Lewiston High School displayed the hundreds of gifts and items of food they've gathered over the months that will be donated to 25 local needy families this Christmas. LHS students have donated the baskets for more than 20 years, something that Lewiston High School teacher Pam Moore said is important to take note of.

"Students need to learn to care about other people, and I think our district is an extremely caring district," said Moore. "We have all kinds of projects that go on."s

Each holiday basket is filled with a month's worth of food, as well as an array of toys, blankets and basic essentials requested from wish lists from the families. This year the students selected 25 families within the school district to receive the holiday baskets.
