Library books wait for shelving at new Lewiston City Library

LEWISTON, ID - The Lewiston Library's construction is almost complete, as they finish the last minute details before the books arrive.

Staff, Librarians and volunteers are busy washing books and packing boxes as they plan on moving into the new library in two weeks. Original wood floors, ceilings from the 1800's, and old brick beams are some of the elements that will make up the new library. Architect Larry Kom said that the older elements really add something unique to the Library.

"It was a pretty easy decision to expose them, clean them up and celebrate," said Kom.

Shelving is all that the library is waiting on to complete their move. The Grand Opening for the library is on June 8th.
