More than 120 school personnel representing roughly 42-schools from north-central Idaho competed to win lottery money for their school at the Lewis-Clark State College Activity Center. Teachers, principals, and school staffers simultaneously raced to scratch as many lunch money lottery tickets as they could with one goal in site, to be crowned the fastest scratching school.
"The Idaho Lottery was created to benefit public schools around the state of Idaho and Scratch for Schools is one additional way that we actually further our mission," said Idaho Lottery Spokesman David Workman.
This is the tenth Scratch for Schools event put on by the Idaho Lottery. Webster Elementary was crowned the fastest scratching school winning roughly $450. Second place and the top cash winner went to J Russell Elementary from Moscow with roughly $500.
