LOID patrons will not see water restrictions for this year

LEWISTON, ID - Water restrictions in Lewiston look like a thing of the past as summertime winds down.

For the sixth year in a row, the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District will not be putting restrictions on water use in Lewiston.

LOID District Manager, Barney Metz said that's in part due to the weather but also patrons being good stewards of the water.

"The patrons continue to do a great job managing the water, bringing it down from the mountain, using it in the appropriate manner," said Metz. "We obviously need a really good winter to replenish the reservoirs they're all pretty low right now but we will make it through this year again without restrictions."

The typical irrigation season runs until mid-October.
