Mackenzie maintains a 4.0 GPA while playing on the varsity basketball team

ASOTIN, WA - Asotin High School senior Mackenzie Trzil is a member of the National Honor Society, on the varsity basketball team and has a 4.0 GPA.

"It's kinda became a natural drive, but my parents are definitely very supportive in my academics," said Mackenzie.

Mackenzie will leave her fellow Panthers behind this Fall and become a proud Beaver as she was accepted to Oregon State University.

"I'm hoping to pursue a degree in biology," said Mackenzie.

Right now anatomy and physiology are Mackenzie's favorite subjects.

"I just like how the body works together and all the systems that make up who we are, it's kind of amazing," said Mackenzie.

Mackenzie said that in college she doesn't want to rule out any possibility.

"College will help find the right path for me, because there's jobs I may not know about," said Mackenzie.

When Mackenzie isn't studying hard, playing basketball, running track or taking part in Future Business Leaders of America we can find her gearing up for Belegrath, a medieval society.

Mackenzie said that some of her academic success comes natural, but she still has to work hard.

"When I get done with sports I go home and I directly go to homework," said Mackenzie.
