Man accused of alleged attack in Craigmont classroom charged

CRAIGMONT, ID - A Reubens man accused of an alleged attack in a Craigmont classroom will appear in court on three misdemeanor counts of injury to a child.

Byron Edwards, 35, is scheduled to appear in Lewis County District Court on January 8th after he allegedly caused a disturbance in his child's classroom in the Highland School earlier this month.

According to Lewis County Sheriff Brian Brokop, substitute teacher Susan Eaton was teaching the class when Eaton witnessed Edwards trip a student and place another child in a headlock. Brokop said Eaton was also told by another student, with a red mark on his face, that he had been slapped.

Edwards is being held in Lewis County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Edwards is also prohibited from any contact with the alleged victims or their families for a year, or until the case is dismissed.
