Specialist Ethan J. Martin, 22, died on August 7th after he was wounded by enemy small arms fire when his unit was attacked. Specialist Martin was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Koragay where the 40th Cavalry was deployed when he was killed in action.
"They gave their lives for our country and we need to show our respect in return for that life, and it's a dedicated life," said American Legion Post 27 Commander Vernon Surber.
Community members will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Martin at Tuesday's Soldier and Veterans Memorial Service. The gathering will begin at 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army Worship Center at 1220 21st Street in Lewiston. Doors will open at 3 p.m.
