Michele Stedman heading to 2013 Special Olympics World Winter games

LEWISTON, ID - A Lewiston woman is getting ready to represent Idaho and the entire United States, all at this year's Special Olympics World Winter games.

Next week, 25-year-old Michele Stedman will compete in the cross country skiing division of the games in South Korea. Stedman, who leaves for pyeongchang in just a couple of days, said the road to the world games wasn't an easy one.

"It was really difficult because, I do the three-k and the one-k, those are the events I do at state," said Stedman. "And I had to get a gold medal in both of those events."

Stedman is holding a spaghetti feed Friday night to raise money for the trip. If you'd like to help the local star on her journey to the world games, just stop by the Eagles Lodge in Lewiston until 7 p.m. for dinner. The lodge is located on main street, near Dairy Queen. Each plate is $7. Keith Havens will be there after our 6p.m. news, so meet Keith and help Stedman out!
