Moscow City Councilman John Weber dies
MOSCOW, ID —
Moscow City Councilman John Weber died Wednesday night from cancer.
City officials said in a press release Thursday morning, he had been fighting "a courageous battle with cancer for the past two years and was unable to overcome it."
Weber was unseated Tuesday during the November 7 election.
He was finishing his second four-year term on City Council.
Weber graduated from Moscow High School in 1965 and held an undergraduate degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Idaho. John was a Moscow native through and through.
“John was a great friend, both personally and professionally. His commitment to Moscow has been evident his entire life. He had a passion for this community and our citizens, regardless of who you were. We will miss John’s humor and perspectives. Our thoughts are with his family and friends”, said Mayor Bill Lambert. “Moscow lost a great one today.”
The city said details regarding services and memorials will be forthcoming as the family makes decisions.
