Five tribes from all over the State of Idaho gathered to discuss several issues, one being the megaloads that travel on the Nez Perce Reservation. Tribal leaders from both Kootenai and Shoshone-Paiut expressed their intent to stand behind the efforts of the Nez Perce, and said that history has taught a valuable lesson on the importance of standing behind something you believe in.
"Martin Luther King Junior Day, a million people, It changed the history, it changed the course of the United States Government," said Shoshone Paiute Tribe Chairman, Dennis Smith Sr. "Look who we have for president now, just because of him. He was not over there by himself, these colored people came by the millions and it made a difference. The more people you have the better off you are."
The next megaload is expected to be shipping out in a couple of weeks.
