They held the official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday night to show off the new facility, which is located next to the Safeway on Bishop. Even though it's just up the road from the old clinic in the Professional Mall, the organization said the move makes all the difference.
"We'd really outgrown our other space," said Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and Northern Idaho President and CEO. "It needed some renovating, or we needed to do something dramatically different, so we started looking for a new location that we thought would really help us serve our communities better."
Planned Parenthood had been on the Palouse for 25 years. They provide preventative services to men and women such as annual check-ups and STI exams. At this location they are able to serve many WSU and U of I students, as well as provide affordable preventative care to those with low income.
