Nez Perce County Clerk sees increase in absentee voting for City Election

LEWISTON, ID - The votes are already starting to roll in for the highly contested Lewiston City Council.

More absentee ballots have already been cast this year than in the previous City Elections of 2011 and 2009. 514 absentee ballots have been cast so far. The last City Election voter turnout was at 10.95%, a number Clerk Patty Weeks hopes to see change this year.

"The local races are really where the rubber meets the road and your local candidates can really make decisions that impact your lives," said Weeks.

Only Lewiston residents can vote in this City Election. If you haven't registered to vote, you can do so at the polling place on Election Day.
