Nez Perce Tribe receives USDA Grant

LAPWAI, ID - The United States Department of Agriculture is helping out Native American communities in 18 states, and the Nez Perce Tribe is one of them.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilasack announced Monday that the USDA is giving out grants to help strengthen tribal business and create jobs.
They're called Rural Business Enterprise Grants. They go to local governments, non-profit corporations and federally recognized Indian Tribes.

The Nez Perce Tribe will receive over $22,000 to provide federal contracting certification training and business assistance for small businesses.
