City leaders are in the design phase for the first ever dog park in the region. The park will be located in north Lewiston on nearly two-acres of land. Recreation Coordinator Beeg Johnson said there's a great need for spaces like these in the community.
"There's thousands of dog users in the valley that's something that we as a department in Lewiston needed to address," said Johnson. "And so we saw an opportunity this year to start those plans and development ,so we are moving forward."
There is no set date of when they'll break ground on the project, however Johnson said there's a committee in place that's eager to get the project rolling.
