According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials began gathering evidence and conducting interviews this week. The explosion, which occurred on November 19th, happened after the contractor, M.L. Albright and Sons ruptured the line while digging in the area along Fifth Street and Beachey.
"If there's a violation of a OSHA rule and there is an employee exposed to a hazardous condition, then we can potentially issue a citation," said OSHA area director David Kearns.
Kearns said many factors are involved when determining whether there's been violation of OSHA and/or industry rules. He said the administration will have six months to complete their investigation and make a decision.
