Palouse fundraiser helps WSU researchers to end Alzheimer's

PULLMAN, WA - Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S., and you have an opportunity to support the research being done on the disease locally.

This Saturday, Whitman Senior Living Community in Pullman is raising money to fight the disease by sponsoring the fourth annual Palouse Walk to End Alzheimer's. In the past, it's been a success because it's a chance for people to have fun while raising awareness.

"Alzheimer's is a disease that needs more recognition and so we help co-sponsor this with the National Alzheimer's Organization to support it here on the Palouse" said Whitman Senior Living Community Marketing Director Ginger Flynn.

Some of the money that is raised will go to researchers at Washington State University who are studying Alzheimer's. The walk is just over three miles, and it will begin at the Chipman trail head near Toyota of Pullman. Registration starts at 8:00 on Saturday morning and the walk will start at 10:00.
