Parkway Elementary School celebrates "School of Distinction" title

CLARKSTON, WA - The principal held an assembly Thursday afternoon to honor and commend the students and teachers for all their hard work.

Parkway was one of 54 elementary schools in all of Washington State, recognized as a "school of distinction". Eight other schools in eastern Washington got the award. Schools selected for this prestigious title, see continuous improvement on state assessments in both, reading and math.

"I would like to congratulate the students and staff of Parkway for this outstanding award," said Clarkston School Dist.Superintendent Darcy Weisner. "Keep up the great work that your doing and we are very, very proud of you."

"Everyday we've been able to work with the kids that need extensions or that needs some extra support and because of that in both math and reading we've really been able to perk up our scores," said Principle Eric Price.

Parkway was labeled a 'struggling' school back in 2010 and Principle Eric Price credits the teachers, students and families for the turn around. Congratulations Parkway Elementary!
