Nez Perce County Clerk Patty Weeks is now the president of the Idaho Association of Counties. Weeks said that she was honored that her peers voted for her, and that she looks forward to this opportunity to more directly address county issues and bring county governments up to the electronic times.
"I'm excited to be able to mold the education for elected officials," said Weeks. "We're in a new era of technology and to be able to incorporate some more technology into county government and be more efficient, I think that would be a wonderful thing to be part of."
The Idaho Association of Counties is a non-profit, non-partisan service organization that works to improve county government across the state of Idaho. The last Nez Perce County official to serve as president was Clerk Jim Lloyd from 1982 to 1983.
