PFD sell pink shirts to raise money during Brest Cancer Awareness Month

PULLMAN, WA - Pullman firefighters wear pink every October to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and now they're selling the shirts to raise money for the cause.

These bright pink shirts are similar to the ones the firefighters have been wearing on duty all month, and they're on sale for $25 each. Shirt sales support both breast cancer research and firefighters because the proceeds are split between the Susan B Koman Foundation and The International Association of Firefighters.

"Cancer is prevalent," said Pullman Firefighter EMT Chris Volk. "Just about everybody has a family member at some level that has been affected by cancer. It's a great way to show our support and to provide some money to two great charities in this case."

There's not much time left to pick up a shirt. They'll stop selling them at the end of October. You can also make donations to the Susan B Komen Foundation at The Daily Grind and Thomas Hammer Coffee Shops in downtown Pullman.
