Photos: Space Shuttle trainer exhibit opens in Seattle

SEATTLE - An exhibit featuring a full-scale mock-up of a Space Shuttle has opened to the public.

The Museum of Flight exhibit opened Saturday, with speeches by dignitaries, appearances by astronauts and music by a local high school band.

The mock-up, which was built in the 1970s, was used to train every space shuttle astronaut before their missions over a period of three decades. The public will be able to walk through the mock-up to learn about astronaut training.

It took three flights on a huge plane known as the Super Guppy to bring the massive mock-up to Seattle.
