Until September fifth the Latah County Sheriff's Office and the Moscow Police Department will both have extra patrols on the look out for drunk driving.
"This time of year we've got Labor Day coming up and people tend to get out and do their last bit of summer celebrating," said Moscow Police Dept. Lieutenant Paul Kwiatkowski. "And we don't want to see anybody get hurt, so we're out on the highways and the streets looking for impaired drivers."
Kwiatkowski said the patrols will use any infraction they see to pull a car over and check for an impaired driver.
He'd also like to remind the public that buckling up is your best defense on the road and to always have a designated driver when drinking.
