Preliminary police report lists brake failure of semi-truck accident fatality

POMEROY, WA - The investigation continues into the cause of an accident that happened near Lower Granite Dam last week.

A truck driver died on Thursday after crashing into the Snake River off of Casey Creek Road, east of Pomeroy.

So far investigators said the preliminary report suggests brake failure is the cause of the accident. We reached out to Par Electrical Contractors, the semi-truck company, but they had no comment.

Leaders from Washington State Police said they're waiting on a toxicology report and a vehicle inspection report to get a better idea of what may have caused this accident.
