After several months of investigation, 50-year-old Brett Hanks of Oakesdale was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property.
Investigators obtained a search warrant of Hanks' home and located methamphetamine and several guns, one of which was determined to have been stolen out of the city of Spokane.
"Not only do we believe he was trafficking in fairly large amounts on a weekly basis, we also believe he was a big problem to that community," said Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers. "And rightfully so, he's a convicted felon, in possession of stolen property, stolen firearms, and drugs."
Anthony Hopkins, 60, of Kennewick and Rebecca Rohwer, 48, of Malden were also arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Charges on other individuals may be forthcoming as this investigation continues.
All three suspects are at the Whitman County Jail. Hanks' bail was set at $50,000, Hopkins has a $25,000 bail, and Rohwer has a $5,000 bail.
