'Quilts of Valor' ceremony recognizes seven military members with quilts

LEWISTON, ID - Seven past military men received their very own quilts Monday evening. Dan Williams, Greg Hile, Robert Fazenboker, Jack Hubbard, Lloyd Livinggood, Everett De'vault and Benjamin Hant were all honored for their military service.

"Well, we may never know the depth of your sacrifice to protect and defend the United States of America," said Quilts of Valor member, Polly Sanderson. "As a gesture of gratitude from a grateful nation please accept your 'Quilt of Valor."

"It's a big honor to receive this quilt today because our war was kind of the war that everyone wanted to forget about," said Vietnam War Veteran, Greg Hile. "But it's nice to be remembered and it's nice to be honored."

97,000 quilts have been given out so far, and to give you an idea of how many that is, if you put the average quilt from end to end they would reach half way to the space station. If you'd like to donate to help fund the fabrics needed for these quilts, log onto
