Receive emails and text alerts from LPD and help keep community safe

LEWISTON, ID - If you want to stay up-to-date on the latest crime information in your community, there's a way for you to do that.

The Lewiston Police Department feels it's important to keep the public in the know, which is why anyone can sign up online to receive e-mails and text alerts from the law enforcement agency. Just last week alone, two theft cases were solved within an hour of going online. Corporal Eric Kjorness said it's important the public be a part of making the community better.

"If we can get these people identified we will certainly pursue investigations on them," said Kjorness. "And the couple minutes you take to notify of make a phone call or send an e-mail to who it might be. Might prevent you from being a victim of theft the next time."

LPD also sends out information about major road closures within Lewiston. If you're interested in signing up, we put a link on our Facebook page. Just search klew news and like the page to join
