Red Ribbon Week at Clarkston High School

CLARKSTON, WA - Taking a stand against the use drugs and alcohol...That's what a group of students at Clarkston High School is doing in recognition of National Red Ribbon Week.

The campaign against drugs was formed in 1985 when a DEA agent was tortured and killed in Mexico. Students said the problems associated with the war on drugs aren't isolated to just the southern part of the country.

"So many people can be affected by it," said Clarkston High School senior, Breanne Norland. "We took a survey and about 90% of our students have been affected by drugs and alcohol by someone else that they know."

This week, DECA students are asking their fellow classmates to take a pledge against substance abuse by wearing red.
