Red, white and blue costumed canines compete at Mutt Strut

MOSCOW, ID - The city of Moscow held their annual Independence Day celebration in Friendship Square Thursday afternoon.

Community members gathered to say the pledge of allegiance, sing the national anthem, and enjoy some free ice-cream. The most anticipated event was the Mutt Strut, where dog owners dressed their pets in red, white and blue.

"It's just kind of fun," said Moscow resident Karin Clifford. "It's good socialization for her, too."

Moscow resident Karin Clifford and her dog Holly were one of the prize-winning teams in the Mutt Strut competition. A panel of Moscow City Council members judged the competition, but all of the pets were so well dressed that almost everyone walked away with a prize.
