Republican candidates made stop in Lewiston as Primary Election approaches

LEWISTON, ID - Two republican candidates are looking for your votes this spring as they throw their hats in the ring for Idaho State offices.

Long time teacher and principle Randy Jensen is running for Superintendent of Public Instruction and former House of Representative and State Senator Evan Frasure is running for Secretary of State.

Both longtime Idahoans sat down with KLEW News and talked about why they've chosen to run for state office, both candidates citing their experience for setting them apart from their competition.

"I've been preparing for the Secretary of State position my entire life," said Frasure. "I have 36 years of public service in the house and the senate and the roles of secretary of state are what I specialize in. In the legislature this is the office that the leadership of the state sought me out to run for this office."

"One thing that will set me apart different from Tom is that I will work really close with all the different groups to put together a plan that we can all work together on," said Jensen. "And I think in Idaho we're all ready to make that happen and make education our top priority."

Jensen has worked as a teacher and principal in Idaho for 29 years.
