Scotty's 3rd Base Grill holding ALS fundraiser for Daniel Rickman

LEWISTON, ID - If you aren't leaving town for the holiday weekend, we wanted to let you know about a local fundraiser taking place on Saturday.

Daniel Rickman, 37, of Lewiston was diagnosed with ALS four years ago. He and his family are challenging the entire community to not only learn more about the disease, but make a small donation to support the ALS Association.

They're throwing a road-side 'Ice Bucket Challenge' at Scotty's 3rd Base Grill in Lewiston on Saturday. Owners of the restaurant said they've hosted several fundraising events before.

"This is for one of our faithful customers that we really appreciate," said Scotty's 3rd Base Grill Co-owner, Lacy Sonnen. "We want to do things to reach out and help our customers and this is a great cause so it's a win, win for everybody."

The challenge starts at noon on Saturday and they''ll be out there until 6:00 that evening. Staff at Scotty's will provide all the buckets and ice water.

In September there'll be two walks to defeat ALS. One will be in Spokane on the 13th and the second in Coeur d'Alene on the 6th. For more information, visit:
