SEL welcomes the community during open house

LEWISTON, ID - A new Lewiston business opened it's doors to the public Thursday evening, welcoming community members from around the Valley to take a tour inside their facility.

The Community Open House at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories featured tours of the manufacturing floor, product displays and information regarding the company and industry. This is SEL's second manufacturing facility in the quad cities.

"The best part about this company opening down here, is we have a lot of folks that commute from the Lewis-Clark Valley, up to the Pullman facility. Building here, gets everybody closer to home," said Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories operations manager Brenda Ross.

The employee-owned company currently serves millions of utility and industrial customers worldwide, creating products and solutions that minimize blackouts and electrical system damage. The new 109 thousand square foot facility is the home of more than 130 employees and will expand by roughly 50 more in the near future.
