Serious vehicle collision on 17th Street sends two to hospital
LEWISTON, ID —
Lewiston police are investigating what led up to a serious car collision that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday.
It happened around three o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of 17th Street and 23rd Avenue.
One driver was trapped and Lewiston fire crews used the jaws of life to free her. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Lewiston police officials said the pickup truck involved was headed down 17th Street, when the other car entered the roadway crashing into the truck.
LPD Sergeant George Hill said, “The car is believed to have been coming east bound off of 23rd Avenue, whether it failed to yield to the stop sign we don’t know that.”
There is no word on the condition of the drivers.
