Sheriff's office recommends keeping doors locked with recent break ins

CLARKSTON, WA - A slew of break-ins in the Asotin County area may be the work of one individual.

Asotin County Sheriff's Office Detective Jackie Nichols said this past week, they've received calls about a man breaking into several homes and in one instance, a homeowner chased a man who was hiding under his deck. Nichols said many of the residents that were burgled had left their homes unlocked and easily accessible.

"People get a little complacent about keeping their doors locked but it's really important even when you're home because this person seems to not be worried," said Nichols.

The man is described to have a strong limp in his step and has stolen car keys, money and easily accessible items.
