LEWISTON, ID - In January we told you about a Lewiston woman who was selected to compete in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. We're proud to say 25-year-old Michele Stedman represented the United States with flying colors in cross country skiing. She received a silver medal for the four-by-one relay, she got fourth place in the one-k individual race and fifth place in the 500-meter individual event. Stedman said that going to the world games was life changing. "It was amazing," said Stedman. "I had so much fun, I made so many new friends. I learned how to ski better and go down the hills better."Stedman said just because the 2013 world games are over, that doesn't mean the work ends. She will be competing in a state tournament this weekend, so she can start trying to qualify for the nextworld games.
