Stamp Out Hunger helps fill Asotin County Food Bank shelves

CLARKSTON, WA - The National Food Drive 'Stamp Out Hunger' will help local food banks make it through a good part of the summer.

The national campaign for those in need was a success again this year, with just over 8,000 pounds of food raised for the Asotin County Food Bank. Still, donations were slightly down from last year but Food Bank President, Joanne Huntley said they're in good shape overall.

"It's filled up our shelves and will keep us going a good part of the summer," said Huntley. "This is the most giving community and we really do appreciate everything that they contribute to us."

Huntley said they'll definitely need help in the future. The Food Bank, which is located at 1546 Maple Street in Clarkston is always accepting donations.
