Superior Court Judge Acey's retirement Open House was bittersweet

ASOTIN, WA - People are saying their final goodbyes to a well-respected judge.

Superior Court Judge William (Bill) Acey is retiring. There was an Open House in the court chambers Thursday afternoon to congratulate the judge on his retirement and all that he's done.

"I can't believe how fast the last 14 years have gone during my time as Superior Court Judge," said Acey. "It seems like just yesterday I won the election to become Superior Court Judge when Judge Lyden retired, and I just want to thank everyone for saying goodbye."

Even though he doesn't officially retire until the end of the month, Thursday was his last day on the bench. He said it's a bittersweet feeling, but he's enjoyed being a judge on the Hell's Canyon Circuit.
