Surprise sendoff for LC Storm athletes competing in Boise

A storm is brewing in Boise, but not the kind you’re used to me talking about. I’m talking about the LC Storm, our local Special Olympics Team.

This morning they left to compete at the Floor Hockey State Tournament in Boise. They were planning on having a couple police escorts, but officials from the City of Lewiston had a big surprise planned!

The LC Storm was paraded out of the valley by LPD, Nez Perce County Sheriff, ISP, and the Lewiston Fire Department. Having the support of the community behind them means the world to these athletes.

"Going down there to represent and make Lewiston proud,” said Wes. “We'll do our best to bring home the gold and make not just the town proud, but the citizens of Lewiston."

We’re all wishing the LC Storm good luck, and thanks to all the volunteers behind this special send-off.
