Suspect pleads innocent for accident that led to major power outage

COLFAX, WA - A Clarkston woman who was arrested Monday night after being accused of driving under the influence and causing an accident that led to a major power outage in Pullman, said she's not guilty.

Cheryl Bynum, 53, was arraigned in the Whitman County Courthouse Friday morning. She's charged with driving under the influence, a hit-and-run that resulted in an injury, and reckless driving. She pleaded not guilty to the charges, and now, a jury trial is scheduled for May 19th.

Bynum is still being held in the Whitman County jail, but Judge David Frazier didn't set a bail amount. Bynum is expected to appear in court again this week.
