Monday morning the Asotin County commissioners approved to spend the money to make it easier for those with hearing disabilities to hear court proceedings. Chief Financial Officer, Chris Kemp said they try to make upgrades to the equipment as necessary and several key pieces of technology need an upgrade in the courtroom.
"The hearing impaired portion of that is the largest chunk of that," said Kemp. "They also are doing upgrades to their microphones as well as the monitor that is in superior court is not large enough for the jurors. And so they're going to upgrade that."
Kemp said the extra monitor that currently sits in the courtroom is being moved over to the commission chambers.
