Starting Tuesday, the Asotin County Public Facilities District will have full control over operation of the center. County Commissioners signed off on the paperwork at their board meeting Monday and they gave a big thanks to Aquatic Center Director Nick Bacon for all his hard work.
"Nick, thanks for doing all the hard work you did on top of the things you already do," said Asotin Co. Commissioner Jim Jeffords.
"I say dido!" said Asotin Co. Commissioner Brian Shinn. "Thanks to all the board members for agreeing and Nick, thank you for all your trouble."
This new ownership means leaders from the district will now be responsible for how your tax dollars are spent at the Aquatic Center.
They'll collect a sales tax that will go toward maintenance and operations. Director Nick Bacon said they should see that money coming in by the end of this month.
