Community members gathered in front of CJ's nightclub on Saturday to try and break the record for the largest country swing dance ever. They needed more than 758-dancers to break the record, and unfortunately they only made it to about 300. But organizers agree the event was a success regardless of the headcount, since the money raised will be donated to a man battling lung cancer.
"It's meant a lot to the family and the people who've been involved," said Event Organizer Zach Goytowski. "Just that everyone's came together."
The money will go to long-time Post Falls Football Coach Jeff Hinz and his family. University of Idaho student Zach Goytowski organized this event to support the coach who as a mentor for him throughout his high school career.
"Whether we broke the record or not, this was a really fun experience and we learned a lot from it," said WSU Student Katie Lundi. "And we've gotten so many donations for the Hinz family and that's originally why we did this, was to raise funds."
