The importance of staying hydrated during triple-digit heat

LEWISTON, ID - As temperatures soar into the triple-digits this weekend we should all be thinking about staying hydrated.

When it's this hot you can lose up to two quarts of fluids each hour. With hundreds of brands, flavors and varieties of refreshing options on the beverage aisle, how do you choose which one to drink?

Health leaders said the best choice is always water! You've probably heard you should be drinking at least eight glasses of water every day.
This is true, but varies from person-to-person. According to the Washington Department of Health, men should have more than 13-eight-ounce glasses a day while women need nine. If you're active or pregnant you'll need to drink even more than that.
