Zoologist Scott Petersen travels across the Northwest with a reptile petting zoo. He made a stop at Neill Pullman Library in Pullman Tuesday afternoon to teach kids that there's no need to fear these animals. Hundreds of kids got a chance to pet and play with a live tortoise, alligator, snakes, and about a dozen other reptiles.
"The misconception is that they chase people," said Petersen. "You know, snakes are very timid creatures. They're afraid of you. You don't need to run away screaming, they're not going to come after you."
The Reptile Man will be in Moscow Thursday night. He'll be set up in East City Park from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. and you can bring the whole family to check out his show for free. It's part of the city's "Entertainment in the Park" series, and there will be live music following The Reptile Man's presentation.
